Wait! Don’t throw out those lemon peels just yet.  Keep them in a reselable plastic bag in the fridge and use them to get rid of those mug stains that your dishwasher missed.

Here’s how to do it:  Sprinkle salt onto the pith of a lemon peel and use it to scrub a stained mug.  The alkaline fruit easily dissolves an acid-based java stain.  It also acts as a natural bleaching agent to quickly lighten the dark pigments in coffee.
