It’s February 27, and that means it’s time for another Pokémon Presents to celebrate the series’ anniversary. It’s Pokémon’s 28th year in 2024, and the announcements this year were underwhelming compared to previous years where The Pokémon Company made announcements like Legends: Arceus and Scarlet and Violet. But if you missed the show and want to watch it, you can check out the video below. For everyone who just wants the highlights, read on.

Pokémon Legends Z-A

Closing out the show was the biggest surprise of the stream: Pokémon Legends Z-A. While Game Freak didn’t show any footage of the game itself, the teaser included blueprints of Lumiose City, a metropolis in the Kalos region featured in Pokémon X and Y. The implication is that the game will focus around the development of the city, and likely other major historical moments in the Kalos region. Pokémon Legends: Arceus was essentially an origin story for the Sinnoh region featured in Diamond and Pearl, so if Z-A follows this formula, we may see some major moments in the Pokémon timeline unfold.

The game will launch on Switch in 2025.
