I’ve never really tried making an apple smoothie, except when mixed with other fruits. Fuji apples are the only fruits left in my fridge, and there was too many of them, so I thought I’d make some in a smoothie. Maybe adding milk or vanilla ice cream would give it a nice twist. And oh, it was delicious!

Creamy Apple Smoothie


  • 2 medium-sized Fuji Apples (or any kind of apples)
  • 1 large scoop Vanilla Ice cream or 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • honey or sugar to sweeten


  1. Wash, peel and slice apples. (you may leave the skin on if you like)
  2. Place all ingredients in blender.
  3. Blend until smooth.

I mentioned in my past post that avocado can help you trim down. Here’s a delicious smoothie recipe that will help you shed off unwanted pounds.


Key Lime Kiss


  • 1/2 ripe avocado
  • 1/2 cup apple juice
  • 1 pkg. light key-lime yogurt
  • 1 lime, zested and juiced


  1. In blender, puree first 3 ingredients, 1 tsp. lime juice, 1/4 tsp. lime zest and 1/2 cup ice cubes 30 seconds or until smooth. Top with whipped cream, if desired. Serve immediately.

Banana- Pineapple Paradise


  • 1 medium banana, sliced
  • 1/2 cup silken tofu
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract


  1. In blender, puree all ingredients 30 seconds or until smooth. Sweeten with honey, if desired. Serve immediately.

It’s summer, the heat is scorching hot, your head is hot and so you deserve a break. And what better way to cool down than with this delicious, antioxidant-rich smoothie. Cherries help ease tension headaches and according to experts, these fruits’ anthocyanins are more effective at relieving headaches than ibuprofen and aspirin.


In blender, puree 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt, 1/2 cup peeled chopped apples, 1/2 cup maraschino cherries (stems removed) and 8 ice cubes 30 seconds, or until smooth. Garnish with 1 maraschino cherry and a dollop of vanilla yogurt, if desired.

Did you know that the manganese in cucumber can improve memory significantly?  Here, a yummy way to enjoy the refreshing veggie.

In blender, puree 1 cup frozen diced honeydew melon, 1/2 cup peeled diced seedless cucumbers, 1/2 cup white cranberry juice, 1 teaspoon lime juice and 1/4 cup ice 30 seconds, or until smooth.  Sweeten with honey if desired.

In blender on medium speed, puree 1 cup fresh blackberries, 12 oz. vanilla yogurt, 1/2 cup apple juice and 1 cup nonfat milk 30 seconds, or until smooth.  Sweeten with sugar to taste.  Garnish with fresh blackberries.

In blender, puree 1 1/2 cups fresh pineapple, 1/2 cup sliced bananas, 1/2 cup ice and 3/4 cup each chilled pear juice and pineapple juice 30 seconds, or until smooth.

In blender on medium speed, puree two cups frozen strawberries, 1 cup nonfat milk and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 30 seconds, or until smooth.  Sweeten honey to taste.  Garnish with fresh strawberries.
